S.T. Dupont is the luxury brand, that is one of the least known to the general public. As the world leader in luxury lighters, the brand has established itself abroad as a worthy representative of French expertise in luxury accessories. In 1872, Simon Tissot-Dupont moved to Paris to become a leather goods manufacturer. As founder of the Dupont dynasty, he gave the brand its initials S.T.
Between 1919 and 1925, his sons André and Lucien Dupont took over the business. They refocused the strategy to concentrate on luxury travel leather goods and matching accessories. At the beginning of the 1950s, S.T.Dupont launched its first gas lighter. It became a huge success and the brand’s bestseller. The American group, Gillette, bought the company in 1972. S.T.Dupont, which has become the world leader in luxury lighters, expanded their product offerings, and successively launched a collection of luxury pens in 1973, a range of high-end leather goods in 1977, and a line of watches in 1981. At a time when the men's accessories market is expanding, S.T. Dupont is seizing all opportunities to be the global luxury brand for men, while remaining faithful to its brand's values ​​and historic craftmanship.
